Restaurant Le Bateau! A very cosy restaurant in the centre of 's-Hertogenbosch. Small, but nice! We opt for the human touch: in our service and our dishes, and we keep it tasty and affordable!

Where does the name 'Le Bateau' actually come from?

For that, we dive deep into history. For centuries, 's-Hertogenbosch had a busy inland harbour, situated on the present-day Vismarkt and Visstraat, not far from our restaurant. The commercial spirit of the people of 's-Hertogenbosch carried them everywhere.
In the 16th century, for instance, Bossche merchants had their own settlement on the Danish island of Schonen.

Located in one of the oldest streets of our Duke's City, we like to remind our guests of the seafaring tradition of our ancestors. And still you can see boats passing by... On the Binnendieze, near our restaurant!
